My trip to Okinawa
A Small Island With A Lot Of History
I have never been the best at waking up early in the morning. I have always been the kind of
person that would wake up in the late in morning. But traveling to Okinawa for the
first time, I was really looking forward to going to that place. Since it was second time traveling by plane, I
was really worried how long it would take to travel, so I ended up packing super early and arriving to the
Haneda Airport
about 12 hours early. It was really tiring to travel to the airport but in the end it was worth it. I manage to
meet everyone
at the airport on time and travel to Okinawa safely.
When I first arrived at Okinawa, we were greeted by an amazing tour guide, and she introduced to many of the
place that Okinawa had to offer. At
first when I first got there, I really wasn't expecting much since I considered Tokyo really the only place that
many people would like to travel to
but boy was I wrong. I have always enjoyed nature and there so much of it there. You can really get lost in its
amazing scenery. There were also
many buildings and historical monuments that explain much of the history it has had with America and all of
Asia.
We had a lot of places to visit such as the Himeyuri Peace Museum which for me really was
one of my
favorite places to visit because it has showed me how much two nations can grow in harmony and peace together
after the sufferings of war. It is the reason why I came to Japan, to be able to find solutions to
strengthen the
relationships between Japan and America, so these types of events never occur again.
There are other places that are considered monuments that I enjoyed exploring. My biggest
advice for everyone if you are someone who wants or is going to visit Okinawa, is that explore
all the place that it offers, you'd be surprised how much you can get into the history of different
places just like when I went to different museums and got really captivated by the history
behind them. It really was unfortunate that I only managed to explore this amazing island for only
a week. I really feel that I had more to discover and plan to return here to continue my exploration.
If you are someone who enjoys exploring historical places and being captivated by nature, I would definitely
consider everyone to visit Okinawa if you are in Japan. that's all I have for you all but I really
enjoyed exploring this amazing place.
